Keith Simmons was a Two-time first team All-Orange County League selection. He was Named the Daily Freeman Player of the Year in 2001 and 2003 and as a seniorwas named the Middletown Record Player of the Year. Keith averaged 22.7 points, 13.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game during his senior season, to help lead Kingston High School to its highest win total (22) in school history. Kingston won the League and Section Championships during his junior and senior seasons. Simmons is also ranked 2nd on the all-time scoring list for Kingston High School right behind Tay Fisher. Simmons and Fisher both scored 1,000pts in the same game his Senior year. They are Kingston's best duo in school history.
Simmons graduated from Holy Cross in 2007 and was named the Patriot League Player of the Year. He was also a first team All-Conference selection in 2007, after leading the team and the league in scoring last season with an average of 16.9 points per game. Simmons also led the team with 5.8 rebounds per game and was second with 2.3 steals per game. Simmons finished his career at Holy Cross ranking in multiple categories. He was a key part of Hoy Cross winning the Patriot League Championship againt Bucknell to enter the NCAA tourney. Simmons is first on the school career list for games played (126), second for three-point field goals made (194), fifth for steals (191) and ninth for points scored (1,654).
In 2007-2008, Simmons played professionally for Kepez, a team in the Turkish First Division, which is based in Antalya, Turkey. He averaged 16.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game during his one year with Kepez. Simmons is currently playing professional basketball in Frankfurt, Germany for the 2008-2009 season.
Mike Parker
Mike Parker had a up and down career at Kingston High School due to injuries. He averaged 25.0ppg before breaking his wrist, which enabled him to continue his senior year. He had the most 3pointers made in a single season with 36, before Tay Fisher passed him his freshmen year with 55.
Parker went to Springfield College to pursure his basketball career. He is the all-time leading rebounder with 961 and ranks ninth on the career-scoring list with 1,521 points. Parker was the New England Men’s Athletic Conference Player of the Year in his sophomore and junior campaigns, and made the all-conference team in his final three seasons. In his sophomore season in 1999-2000, he helped Springfield College reach the “Sweet 16” of the NCAA Division III Tournament. As a senior in 2001-‘02, Parker was selected to d3hoops.com pre-season All-America Team. He was also a DIII News pre-season All-American and an honorable mention All-American in Street & Smith College Basketball.
After Graduating from Springfield, he went to Germany to play professional basketball for the 2004-2005 season. Parker averaged 24 ppg. The following year he went to Lithuania to average 11.0ppg, 4rpg and 4apg. For the 2007-2008 season he went back to Germany to continue where he left off averaging 22.5ppg, 6rpg and 3apg. All of his hard work and tremendous professional career he has conveyed in the last four years has him in a great and competetive country right now. Parker is currently in Ireland for the 2008-2009 basketball season.
Greg Nero
Greg Nero went to Red Hook High School and made a big name not only for himself but for the program as well. The type of passion for the game and success he displayed, allowed Red Hook to capture the Section 9 championship four times. He played an instrumental part in the team's success, averaging 24.3 points per game as a senior. With that strong effort, Nero ended his career with a 19.1 scoring average. He served his teammates as a team captain during his junior and senior seasons. Nero earned a spot on the All-State first team as a junior and as a senior, and collected three conference (MHAL) most valuable player awards. He was also selected as the Dutchess County most valuable player as a junior and as a senior. Greg Nero ended his career at Red Hook at the top of the scoring list with 1,906 total pts.
Nero made a huge impact his first year at Fairfield University by averaging 9.4ppg. During his Sophmore year, 2006-2007 season, he struggled at times with the changes going on with the team, but still found a way to continue his strong, physical and consistent presence as a Fairfield Stag by averaging 8.5ppg. He is now entering his Junior year and feeling even stronger and confident about himself and his team as they are picked 2nd in the conference behind the MACC champions from last year Siena Saints.
Josh Duell
Josh Duell went to Christian Brothers Academy(CBA) in Albany. His senior year in high school he led CBA to the New York State Section II Class AA title and the state semifinals in 2004. He was named to the Albany Times Union, Daily Gazette and the WNYT-TV All-Star teams. Also, Duell was the recipient of the Section II Sportsmanship Award. He led the Brothers in assists and blocked shots while averaging 10ppg and 8rpg.
Josh attended Vermont, who plays in the American East and was a huge part of there success in the 2004-2005 season. He averaged 5.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game helping Vermont reach NCAA Tournament and post First Round upset of Syracuse.
After leaving Vermont and sitting out a year to play at Siena, his knowledge and willingness to win continued. He was key in the Saints success during the 2007-2008 season. The Siena Saints winning the MACC championship against Rider and upsetting Vanderbilt in the first round in the NCAA tourney were huge and unforgettable games for the program and Josh was right in the middle of the success. Duell posted second highest free throw percentage on the team with 79.7%, finished fifth on the team in 3-pointers made (25) and percentage (34.7%). Also he was second on the team in 3-point shooting at home (46.2%) and led the team in non-conference free throw shooting (83.3%).
Kenny Hasbrouck
Kenny hasbrouck was named Team MVP as a sophomore at Long Cane High School and as a senior at Cardinal Gibbons. Kenny averaged 12 points, four assists and three rebounds as a post graduate student at highly regarded Maine Central Institute.
As a freshmen, Kenny came in and made a name for himself right from the beginning and never took steps back. He ended his freshmen year as MACC Rockie of the year and MAAC Rookie of the Week eight times (Siena record). He scored 20 points or more in three of the final five games of regular season. Hasbrouk averaged 12.4ppg, 3apg, 4rpg and 81% from the line as a freshmen. As a Sophomore 16ppg, 2apg and 3rpg. He led all MAAC guards and finished 12th overall with a 47.5% field goal percentage and scored 45 points and made 8-12 3-pointers in back-to-back games against Fairfield and Manhattan. As a Junior Hasbrouck took his game to another level. He became Siena College Male Student-Athlete of the Year, CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Player of the Year, CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major All-American, Preseason and Postseason First Team All-MAAC, Second Team NABC District 2, MAAC Tournament MVP. Kenny scored game-high 30 points, shooting 9-14 from the field and 10-10 from the line in NCAA First Round win over Vanderbilt (3/21), finished second on the team with 16.1points (sixth in MAAC) and 2.2 apg. Also he led the league with 77 steals (2.26 per game), became the third fastest player to reach 1,000 points in Siena's Division I history and averaged 18 ppg and 5.2 rpg in Siena's five postseason games.
Jesse Cannie
Jesse Cannie was also a member of the 2003 and 2004 sectional 9 Kingston Tigers basketball team with Tay Fisher. He was the PG who averaged 7ppg and 4apg. In Cannies Senior year in high school he led the Tigers to the sectional finals for Section 9. He was the captain and focal point of the team averaging 14ppg, 6apg and 4rpg. After the season, He recieved honors as being recognized as 1 of 5 players on the 1st team in the Daily Freeman.
After graduating from Kingston High School in 2005, Cannie went to Ulster Community College to play basketball to help turn there program around. For the 2005-2006 season at Ulster Cannnie averaged 18ppg and 5apg. His game high was 28pts, 10 assists and 4 rebounds in a win against Sullivan Community College.
After completing a year at Ulster Community College, Cannie pursued his basketball talent playing in a Semi Pro league (NPBL), for the New Jersey Monarchs as the starting PG averaging 14ppg and 7apg.
Marcel Davis
Marcel Davis was one of the most athletic, influential, and energetic players to graduate from Kingston High School. He was known for his jumping ability(38 inch vertical) and determination on the defensive end. His sophmore year at Kingston, he scored a career high 42pts and averaged 13ppg, receiving Honorable Mention in the Daily Freeman. His Junior and Senior year was his best years as a high school player recieving first team honors. His senior year, Davis averaged 19ppg, 8rpg, 3stl and 3blk, leading the Kingston Tigers to the Section 9 Championship.
Graduating in 2000 from Kingston High School, Davis continued his basketball career at Schenectady Community College where he averaged 28ppg and 9.8rpg over a 2 year period. His Second year there, he was selected Player of the week where he scored 47pts, 50pts and 39pts in a one week span.
After graduating from Schenectady Community College in 2002, Davis played Semi-Pro for the Connecticut Thunder Bolts(2006), New York Strickforce(2007) and Hudson Valley Hawks(2008) with Tay Fisher.
